We have all fallen “victim” to the longing eyes or the subtle nudging of a mooching feline. Of course, not everything on our plates is fit for cat consumption, but there are people foods that are actually healthy for our furry friends. Check out our list of 9 super foods your cat should eat.
Note; the following list is not a substitution for a good quality cat food. Cats are carnivores by nature and need a meat-based diet to stay healthy and fit.
This super-green food is great for us and our feline-companions. It is loaded with antioxidants that have been known to ward off free radicals in the body (cancer causing cells). In addition, broccoli is also a good source of fibre, which can keep your cat’s digestion and elimination ticking along. The sprouts of broccoli are also safe for both human and feline consumption. In fact, the sprouts are actually 10 to 100 times more potent with antioxidants, so a little bit goes a long way.
The best way to serve this superfood to your pet is boiled, then cooled and only in small amounts – tummy troubles can occur with any food when your pet is not use to it – so keep it in moderation.
