A cat with the word “rex” in its name is a cat with a curly coat of hair. A Cornish Rex is known for the fact that it has no hair except for a down coat (undercoat) and, of course, it’s curled. The curl comes from a genetic mutation and the breed originated from Cornwall, Britain. They have one of the softest coats due to the lack of outer coat, but a downside to this is that they can’t survive outside. They thrive in warm, indoor climates and they are a very docile breed in that they like to relax. Most often, you’ll find your Cornish laying under a lamp or on top of a computer in search of warmth. This breed can cost between $200-650.
